AAG Unites with Pink Floyd Artist to Help Save the Asian Elephant
22 April 2010
David Alexander, CEO of leading wealth management company Alexander Associates Group (AAG), has joined forces with legendary artist Storm Thorgeson, renowned for his work with including Pink Floyd, 10cc, and Muse, to support Elephant Parade, London’s biggest ever outdoor art event set to take place throughout May and June 2010.
Following his seminal exhibition, Right but Wrong, which showcased some of his most famous and iconic images at the Idea Generation Gallery during April 2010, Thorgerson has been sponsored by AAG to paint a wonderfully unique life-size baby elephant which will brighten the streets of London this summer, helping to ensure the survival of the Asian elephant.

Storm Thorgerson was a key member of the British graphic art group Hipgnosis, and designed many of their most famous single and album covers. Amongst his most famous designs are those he created for Pink Floyd, including the album cover for The Dark Side of the Moon. He now runs a design studio called StormStudios, which represents a group of creative freelancers.
Founded in 1995, AAG is a private wealth management company, developing bespoke financial portfolios to reflect their client’s objectives. The Mayfair based company has established itself as a market leader in managing individual financial, legal and property affairs, earning a reputation for innovative, tailored advice.
Elephant Parade will feature 250 life-size elephants hand-painted by an assortment of established and emerging talent from the art and design world, including Marc Quinn, Diane Von Furstenberg and Lulu Guinness. Previous parades have been held in Holland and Belgium, raising over €1,600,000 in total.
These elephants, destined to become highly collectible works of art, will grace London landmarks, including Parliament Square and the South Bank, throughout May and June, turning the capital into an urban jungle. They will then be herded together in one of London’s great green spaces for a magnificent exhibition, open to the public.
Within only 100 years the Asian elephant population has shrunk by over 90%, dropping from 250,000 to an estimated 25,000, placing this valuable species dangerously close to extinction. If current trends continue the Asian elephant will cease to exist in the wild by 2050.
