Buying Property: The Complications

Posted: April 13, 2016

More than 60% of people believe the house buying process is too confusing, according to a poll from Tepilo.

“Dealing with home buyers every day, this figure doesn’t surprise us” comments James Skidmore, head of Mortgages at AAG. “It’s an expensive and stressful time, and so many things can go wrong.”

The report highlights:

  • 33% said it is far too expensive
  • 33% believe that sellers should be responsible for paying for the survey on the house they are selling
  • 10% worry that the sale will fall through before exchange when they have spent money on legal and survey fees

“In our experience, using professionals to guide you through the process can help alleviate some of the stress. From mortgage broker to lawyer, having the right team behind you will help make the process of buying your home much less complicated.”

The main benefit of using a mortgage broker is access to the thousands of mortgage products available across different lenders, and identifying the most suitable for you and your circumstances.

“Our clients come in all shapes and sizes. From a straight forward ‘normal’ mortgage to more complex situations like a portfolio lend, we are able to find a solution that suits.” James concludes.

Your home or other property may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
